I used to go to the pictures in Romford, some decent films around. Surprising how many cowboy and war films, looking back. Smoking was allowed inside the cinema, and if you took a bird, you probably didn't watch much of the film.

Holiday at a caravan park in Devon (or Cornwall).

One day all adult males descended on the clubhouse to watch a game of football on the telly.
Apparently it was something called the World Cup, in which I had zero interest.

I was in 4th form at Aveley and Grays tech and hating almost every moment. West Ham was my salvation and Geoff Hurst was my hero. Can't recall too much else about 1970 and the effects it did or didn't have of my adolescent life.

I got 9 O levels at Campion. I was playing for Orsett & Thurrock cricket club, who were probably still Orsett CC on Saturdays and Thurrock CC on Sunday's, pre merger.

I was into Led Zeppelin, Santana and Pink Floyd. The Mexico World Cup was on. I was very occasionally seeing a bird called Georgina. My mum bought a colour TV and we had a trim phone

Ha ha. Whereas taking the time to post just to slag off other posters is a sign of a much more rich and fulfilled life.

Very Leigh Jim of you;-)
